Love, Deepthroat - Nixon Print
After reading the book "All the President's Men", I felt compelled to design and print this work as a visual commentary. Former Preseident Richard M. Nixon is standing in his classic pose of double peace signs. while looming oabove some dark and ominous clouds. The clouds are rising above the residense of the President of the United States, the White House. In the clouds is a phrase written in Russian that, translated states "to forget history risks repaeting it." There is a halo of text that mimicks the rays radiating around Christ's head in the ancient Byzantine mosaic works at Hagia Sophia in Instanbul, Turkey. The text is an excerpt fro Nixon's 1968 Rupublican Presidential Acceptance Speech. The text reads,
"America is in trouble today not because her people have failed but because her leaders have failed. ...When the nation with the greatest tradition of the rule of law is plagued with unprecedented lawlessness..."
